About Josie Byzek

I wrote my first story from a hospital bed in the fourth grade, about a bug that escaped being squished by a giant shoe. That was probably the best indicator of who I would grow up to be: a lifelong advocate for the folks who keep getting stepped on.

My stories have helped put laws and policies into place that make life easier for everyday people, and I still get a thrill when I see my byline. I serve on the boards of organizations rooted in the same values I bring to my work, including Pennsylvania's Statewide Independent Living Council and Disability Lead.

When I'm not at my laptop, I'm elbow-deep in my garden, walking my dog Mooney, or talking my partner's ear off nonstop.
